In the greek mythology, the capricorn was the god of the fields and of the herds.
According to the legend, the one hundred headed giant Typhoon was searching for the gods to avenge himself of the battle of the Titans; the gods, to hide, changed themselves into animals. Between the gods there was also Pan, the half-goat god of simple life.
Pan threw himself into a river and tried to change himself into a fish, but the morphosis reached only a half of his body: the other part was still a goat part.
